The Promotional Idea Showcase - Winter 2001 - Updated Quarterly

Promotional planning calendar

April

1: Check Your Batteries Day. In the car, smoke detector, radio, flashlight, watch, etc. Good opportunity for sellers/makers of any of these things.
7: No Housework Day. A day to encourage taking a break from laundry, cleaning, cooking, etc. Neat tie-in for restaurants, movies, stores, clubs, etc.
10: National Siblings Day.  Honoring brothers and sisters (and sister companies) everywhere.
17: National Stress Awareness Day. Any company can give out imprinted stress relievers as part of a “we care” campaign.
24: Administrative Professionals Day. And where would any CEO, president, VP or other manager be without a dependable assistant? A day to salute all they do to make you look good throughout the year.
30: National Honesty Day. Devoted to complete honesty with everyone – employees, employers, friends and family.
1-30: International Legacy Month.
What type of legacy will you or your
company be leaving to friends, family and
customers once you leave spaceship Earth? Good time to promote personal or corporate history.

5: National Fun At Work Day. A day to enjoy some laughter in the office – something we could likely all use, and it’ll boost morale as well.

16: Charlie Chaplin: Birthday. Considered the first great film comedian, his works are still enjoyed today. Possible link for theatres, video stores, record stores (he was also a composer), TV stations, etc. Born 1889.
22: Earth Day. Green marketing hasn’t gone away; it’s just been less
visible. An excellent time to gain some community support by promoting environmental responsibility.
28: National Sense Of Smell Day. Saluting our olfactory sensitivity and how important it can be. Bakeries, perfume shops, chocolate makers, candle shops, etc., can all benefit, and scented products can be used for gifts.
