The Promotional Idea Showcase - Spring 2004 - Updated Quarterly

Day Tripper

June

Perennial Gardening Month. Even if your company has nothing to do with plants or gardening, you can use a “green” promotional product to make yourself known. Items such as seed packs, tree shrubs, seed-embedded cards, bamboo stalks and all sorts of potted plants can carry your company’s logo and get your message out. (How ’bout a client appreciation campaign utilizing a plant with a message like “thanks to you we just keep growing” imprinted on its container?)

Cancer From The Sun Month. Resorts, neighborhood pools, sports teams and dermatologists can help people avoid the first nasty sunburn of the year by reminding them how harmful the sun’s rays can be. Imprinted bottles of sunblock are the obvious choice, but don’t forget to ask your promotional consultant about lip balm, sunglasses, beach cover-ups and umbrellas.

June 6-12: National Headache Awareness Week. Each year, 90% of all men and 95% of all women experience at least one headache and 10 million people will visit their doctors for treatment. Stressballs and relaxation products leap to mind as promotional remedies, and employers, schools, doctors and hospitals can teach people about headache treatment/causes to help them alleviate the pain. June 18-24: Take Your Pet To Work Week. Help build employee loyalty and morale by allowing employees to bring in their beloved Fido or Fifi. Promotional items such as pet placemats, blankets, leashes and cleanup bags can help keep the workplace clean and orderly, while food bowls, toys or T-shirts – for pet or owner – will give them something to remember the day.

June 18: National Splurge Day. Go a bit overboard and reward your best employees or customers today with luxury items such as watches, pens, collectibles, electronic equipment, gourmet food or executive toys. Of course, less expensive things can be considered indulgences as well – like chocolate treats, bottles of wine, bath products, flavored teas & coffee, etc.

June 19: World Juggling Day. Traditionally, today’s a day that recognizes the skill of juggling and encourages everyone to give it a try, but why not take the idea a little further? Recognize working moms and dads for juggling the demands of business and family, or top employees for juggling various aspects of their jobs. Logoed balls or juggling sets could complete the theme.
