| When it comes to
effective promotional products, everyone knows about the standards
like T-shirts, caps, mugs and calendars. But the tens of thousands
of other products you can put to work conveying your ad message also
include some highly interactive items many find difficult to put
down – like books, for example. From current bestsellers to
favorite self-help titles to atlases to cookbooks and beyond, there
are volumes of books and book-related products to choose from. |

MAKE YOUR MARK. Just because
bookmarks have a fairly uncomplicated purpose in life doesn’t mean
they have to be boring. This silver example, for instance, conveys
the sophistication of the reader while attractively displaying a
logo. It can make an elegant executive gift or serve as an incentive
for loyal customers or employees.

LEAD THE WAY. Though
traditional geographic atlases are perennial favorites, those with
specific themes are becoming more popular as corporate gifts. The
America book, for example, features 208 pages of thematic and
large-scale maps of the United States, plus photos, essays and more.
Great Golf Courses of America contains useful information for any
serious golfer, including full-color maps, golf course layouts and
detailed lists of holes, yardage and pars for each course.

MAKING EDUCATION FUN. Most kids
love to color. With educational coloring books, such as this one
featuring Bear in the Big Blue House, they can learn while they’re
coloring. Familiar characters can also help children deal with
potentially upsetting but common life situations such as having a
family member in the hospital or going to the doctor’s office.
Garfield, the Muppet Babies and Smokey the Bear are just a few of
the other characters available in books that cover similar issues
along with even more sensitive topics like drug/alcohol abuse,
gangs; home/fire/Internet safety; poison prevention and more.

AT YOUR FINGERTIPS. Need to
know the area code of another location? Average temperatures of a
city during a certain month? How long it will take to drive from one
place to another? You’ll find all of this and lots, lots more in
the Pocket Ref by Thomas J. Glover. With 768 pages of facts, figures
and other valuable information, this truly handy reference guide can
be useful to just about anyone.

COOL KITS. Just what every hip
chick needs at all times: A kit containing nail polish, a nail file,
glitter and other “must” accessories, including a book of advice
for teenage girls. Schools, doctors, retail outlets and other
businesses can use them to reach the tough ‘tween and teen female
audience. Interesting reading, too.

LASTING MEMORIES. Given before
a trip, travel guides such as San Diego On My Mind can generate
excitement and help people plan a memorable experience. Afterwards,
they work extraordinarily well in helping recipients remember the
trip (and you). A perfect fit for hotels, resorts and corporate
meetings/incentive trips, but they can also be effective when used
by restaurants, schools, real estate firms, travel agencies, etc.

GOOD TASTE. Send clients or
employees a taste of your local (or any other region’s) cuisine
with these themed cookbooks. They’re also useful as gifts to help
guests remember a particular city or region with warm feelings long
after their visit. And if your interest extends beyond regional
fare, other types of cookbooks are also available from your
promotional counselor – everything from beginners to quick meals
to super-gourmet cooking.

space-saving construction. Use it alone or pair it with an imprinted
reference book, such as an almanac or dictionary, for extra effect.
