| 3:
Another Look Day. Encouraging people to take a good look
at all their possessions, decide what they really don’t
need, and donate some or all of it to charitable causes.
Excellent get-involved community opportunity for virtually any
company. |
| 7:
Federal Lands Cleanup Day. It doesn’t take a nuclear
physicist to determine that this is an incredible promo-op for
volunteer work, with logoed T-shirts/caps, etc. given to all
participants. |
11:
9/11/01: First Anniversary. A day to remember, recognize,
remind and reaffirm. |
|
13: Friday the
Thirteenth. Triskaidekaphobes, beware. For the rest of us,
an offbeat day to begin a promotion with a “luck” theme,
punctuated by logoed traditional good-luck pieces.
Unbelievably, there’s another Friday 13 in December this
year should you wish to stretch the campaign.

| 1-30: National
Potato, Honey, Biscuit, Hat, Chicken, Piano, Rice and Coupon
Month. There are dozens of fun promo possibilities for
these that are wide-open enough to accommodate most
businesses. |
4:
Be Late For Something Day. Designed to offer a release
from the stress of always being on time. Interesting office
contest fodder, provided, of course, that at least some
parameters are used. Logoed clocks can be one prize. |
8-14: National
Five-A-Day Week. Encouraging Americans to eat at least
five
vegetables and/or fruits daily to better their health. A
natural for cafeterias anywhere, not to mention restaurants,
groceries, food packagers and so on. |
| 22:
Dear Diary Day. Promoting the use of daily diaries, for both
business and personal use. As they’re making a comeback,
it’s obvious what products would fit. |
25:
National One-Hit Wonder Day. Saluting all those recording
artists who had one charted hit single, then disappeared.
Interesting concept for record stores, radio stations,
libraries, trivia or “name that tune” contests, etc. |
